Niya Wright is an actress living in Los Angeles. Recently graduating with honors from Loyola Marymount University, Niya grew up in East Orange, NJ where acting, dancing and making people happy gave her the greatest joy. Niya grew up loving television, General Hospital being one of her favorite shows. She found it especially healing as her family dealt with her baby brother’s autism diagnosis. Niya dreamt of being on the screen helping to bring stories alive that would inspire, entertain and uplift the lives of millions of people around the world. At fourteen years old, Niya left her home to attend a community school program through "A Better Chance", a non profit organization designed to offer better educational oppurtunites to minority students.
Her community school program was located in Darien, CT. She lived with five other ABC scholars and their resident directors while attending high school. Over her four years in Darien, Niya grew into a remarkable young woman who exemplified what the A Better Chance Program stood for. She was Student Body President and received numerous honors including the YWCA Young Woman of Distinction Award and the Daughters of the American Revolution Citizenship Award. She championed many initiatives, including Dancing with the Teachers, a sucessful fundraiser that provided dance scholarships for local students in need. She created, performed and co-hosted the event!

Her passion for helping people and entertaining did not slow down in college. There, she met Kal Sisson, and the two quickly became a unique pair of visionary artists and friends. The pair maintained their own radio show and sketch comedy YouTube Channel. Niya was also an active member of the theatre and film community at LMU, performing in a number of shows and short films.

Currently, Niya sets up shop behind the scenes at ABC’s General Hospital, while attending an acting class with actress Tasha Smith. Niya hopes to use her voice and platform to bring love, joy and awareness to the world.
